Donna has been a member of the Bristol Tramps since 2006, She received the Tramps’ Ed Lodovico Award in 2011. Donna is also a member of the Bristol Public Library Board of Directors, serving in many capacities over the past 20 years;in 2007, she was recognized by the CT Library Association as an Outstanding Library Trustee of the Year. Donna was married to the late Ralph Papazian, former BCHS Football Coach, educator, 6 term Bristol City Council Member, Interim Mayor and Athletic Director for the Bristol Public School System at the time of his death in 1995.
She now serves on two committees to honor Ralph: the Ralph Papazian Memorial Scholarship which annually awards a scholarship to a graduating senior from BCHS and BEHS, rotating each year between the two schools.The Ralph Papazian Leadership Award is given annually to an individual coach/educator/community leader who models Ralph’s values.Donna has two sons, Jeffrey and Michael, daughter-in-law Jodi and granddaughter Lucy Elizabeth Papazian. Donna is a graduate of BCHS, Albertus Magnus College and CCSU Masters’ and Sixth Year Degree Programs.She is retired from the Bristol Public School System after 45 years of service — 35 full-time as a teacher and guidance counselor and 10 years part-time as a counselor at Bristol Adult Education Center. She now has the best “job” of all — taking care of Lucy!
