Byron has been a Bristol resident since 1975 and is a graduate of Bristol Eastern High School, class of 1976 – he has been a member of the Bristol Tramps since the fall of 2016. He was a volunteer coach for youth baseball at Edgewood Little League for 10 years earning a service award in 2002. He is a past chairman of the First Congregational Stewardship committee and was also a member of its Hymn Singers. Byron participated on several Bristol slow-pitch softball teams, and was a proud member of Crown Oil over-35 league team which won numerous city and state championships. He is currently a member of the City of Bristol Board of Ethics. Byron has been married to his wife Janice since 1986 and has two sons, Gregory and Geoffrey (deceased). Byron spent 37 years in IT and is retired from Prudential Financial – he is currently a mail carrier in the town of Bloomfield.
