Anthony “Tony” Savino was born and raised in Bristol. He attended St. Anthony’s Grammar and High School and was an all-around athlete, excelling in basketball and baseball. He led a life dedicated to his country, and community and was a huge supporter of local charities and organizations. Tony extended himself throughout his life to many who benefited from his close mentorship. He encouraged everyone he met to “pay it forward” by lending their time and talent in service to others. Tony served as the Executive Director of The Bristol Tramps from 2004 until his death in 2008. The Tony Savino Award provides a $1,000 gift to a sports or charitable organization in our community. Thanks to Glenn Kornichuk and the Gateway Youth Athletic Association for their generous contribution in Tony’s name.
